Somewhere around 10 years ago, Nico and Sean met. They met at a party, and while yes, Sean is a devilishly handsome guy, it wasn't love at first sight. Rather, it was Sean's charming personality that captivated Nico, as he advocated for the warmth, comfort, and flexibility one can feel wearing toe-socks, which he described as he wiggled his toes freely. That's when Nico knew he was special. Although they came from vastly different backgrounds, their connection grew as they found parallels in their sense of adventure, creativity in the arts, and laughing as much as possible about absolutely nothing. The light heartedness and love was the foundation of their relationship and has helped them move through the ups and downs of life. They have found a balance of leading and listening depending on what the other needs and what the situation calls for. After nine years, Sean proposed. He wanted to do it by yelling from a mountain top, but opted for a three week trip to Europe, where they walked from Porto, Portugal to Camino de Compostela, Spain on the Camino De Santiago. After 170 miles, standing in front of the humbling Camino de Compostela Cathedral, Sean got down on his knee and pulled out the lucky silver ring Nico had since she was little. Cheers in the courtyard of the cathedral erupted, but died down during the 4 minutes Sean remained on his knee while Nico wrapped her head around what was happening. The crowds were just a relieved as Sean when she finally said yes.
