This national park is right within the city of Uruapan and very close to the hotels recommended. Beautiful walk to see the native plants and the waterfalls produced by the natural aquifers. Great place to get some raspados and tostilocos!

Our beloved volcano erupted February 20, 1943. The duration of activity lasted 12 years and 11 days, there were 0 deaths as it was slow enough that the two surrounding towns (now buried by the lava) had time to evacuate.
