Hi, Nicole here! One of my favorite stories is how our relationship came to be. Walker is a very stubborn and persistent man in all of the best ways, and the story of us only shows that paying off for him. It all started by Walker continuously “liking” anything and everything I would post on Facebook. I had said to a few of my girlfriends that I felt like he was going to say something to me soon, otherwise it was just getting weird. Sure enough about 3 weeks later, thanks to some brown bottle courage Walker sent a message saying, “why you so cute?” Being the sarcastic person that I am, i responded with, “you’ll have to ask my mom.” And the rest is history. I was living in Chicago at the time, but was coming home for one of my best friends weddings, so I agreed to go on a date with Walker. He was very persistent even as I tried multiple times to blow him off. He eventually called me and persuaded me to, “just come have pizza and beer, and we can just sit and talk.” So I got in my car, and headed downtown where we would not only have an incredible time at Fongs, but we would continue on to Annies (known to us as Mickeys.) We went back and forth all night poking fun at each other, talking about our “basic” qualities, discovering we’re massive sports rivals, and laughing. Not only did we make it to bar close that night, we proceeded to stand in an empty parking lot talking, laughing, and kissing for another hour and a half. By the time we looked at our phones we realized it was 3:30 in the morning and walker had to be up for work the next day at 6. We called it a night. I was home for the next 5 days, so we went on 5 more incredible dates while I was here until I moved home 2.5 weeks later. I drove straight from Chicago to what is now our home, and we’ve been together ever since.
