We met when Nicole allowed Vivek to join her on a hike after they had been messaging on Bumble. It is a popular trail so the only risk Nicole was worried about was the risk that she would have to spend the day hiking with someone rude or annoying - which, thankfully, Vivek is not. We spent a beautiful spring day together hiking Bear and South Boulder peaks in Boulder, CO, taking in the beautiful views, and connecting about our interests and values. Even though Vivek was unsure about Nicole’s purple hair (it was the early pandemic days) we immediately knew we wanted to hang out again. As we dated we bonded about our love for the outdoors, our future goals and values, and cooking Indian food. Outdoor activities continue to be an important part of our quality time together, and we try to get out hiking, climbing, or biking as often as possible.
