Where is everyone staying?

Answer

The Hotel Viata is located just outside of Austin, in Hill Country. Food & Beverage options for this hotel include: one restaurant on site open from 7am until 10pm, room service or off site restaurant delivery. Self parking is included with your resort fee and valet parking is available at an additional charge. How far is the Austin Airport to Hotel Viata?

Answer

Hotel Viata is approximately 20 minutes from the airport. The hotel does not provide an airport shuttle so you will need to plan your own transportation.

Do we need to rent a car?

Answer

Hotel Viata has on site options for dining but does not offer a shuttle for off site exploring. The hotel is located in Hill Country, which is in a remote area where you won't be able to walk to shopping or restaurants offsite. A shuttle will be provided to and from the wedding ceremony/reception and the Sunday lunch is on the hotel grounds but if you plan to do any other sight seeing, you will need to plan your own transportation.

Will there be a shuttle to and from the wedding venue?

Answer

Yes! The shuttle will make one trip to the wedding venue an hour prior to the ceremony and one trip back to the hotel at the end of the reception. Please be sure to RSVP on our website for the shuttle to reserve your seat. The shuttle will not run back and forth so if you plan to head back to the hotel earlier than 11pm, you will need to make other arrangements for transportation. The wedding venue is approximately 30 minutes from the hotel and the ceremony starts at 5pm.

Will the ceremony/reception be held indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors. There will be an outdoor cocktail hour, weather permitting.

What time is the lunch on Sunday?

Answer

The lunch will be a buffet style meal held at the Hotel Viata in the Magnolia Room (the game room). It is an open house style lunch from 11:30am - 3pm but please be sure to RSVP on our website so we can get an accurate head count to the Chef. Dress is casual.

What is the weather like this time of year?

Answer

The temperature is usually in the low to mid 60's during the day and goes down to the mid 40's at night. That being said, there's a saying in Texas "if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes." because it can be very unpredictable.
