The first time they saw each other was through phone screens on a little app called Tinder in 2015. For Nicole, it was the shark headphones and the dinosaur stance next to a Jurassic Park jeep that was showcasing a fun-loving side to Tyler. A cute smile drew Tyler in and a personality that appeared genuine on her profile. They both swiped right which brought them together. Tyler had playful jokes and Nicole was quick-witted to keep up with the pun-master. Soon, their virtual conversation moved to meeting in person and it was a first kiss that sealed their fate. Though, to their surprise, this was not the first meeting it turns out. In 2012, a photograph was obtained through a deep dive in Nicole's Facebook profile of a group of cosplayers at Denver Comic Con. Within that photo, cosplaying as Nick Fury, was Tyler. Their paths had crossed three years prior to them finding one another on the Tinder app. It was then, their fates were intertwined.

Cut to 2022 at the end of May. A little trip to Telluride was planned and they set off towards the mountains. It was a well-needed getaway and they were both looking forward to the time together. Nicole took pictures along the way, mainly of the beautiful scenery but when they got to their hotel in Ouray, she began a trend to take a selfie in each part they visited. Tyler had mentioned doing some activities like a hike to Bridal Falls or going down and trying their hand at panning for gold, even going to a local hot spring. They visited the surrounding towns and enjoyed the time together, though they never did get around to panning for gold or the hike. It was the last day of the trip and they drove into Silverton. They walked the tiny main street, popping into the little shops as they strolled. It was on their way back that they realized they did not take a selfie like they normally did. Nicole had offered pulling off on the Million Dollar Highway, which had beautiful scenic views no mater where they went. She mentioned even using her smart watch to set up the photo so they could get more of the background. There was a gorgeous valley that was on one of the many bends in the road that they decided to stop to take their picture. Nicole set up her phone on the hood of the car and backed up to be sure they got the background. Nicole was unaware that while she set up the shot, Tyler was doing his own setting up with a box behind his back. All of a sudden, Nicole stated, "We have 3 seconds," and went to stand close to Tyler. She felt him move and when she turned she saw him on his knee with a ring box held up and a tearful smile on his face. Both of them were crying, on the side of a road, as cars drove by but they were unaware of the world around them. Nicole said yes and they laughed, not sure if they got a picture at all but it did not matter. This was the most beautiful day they could have ever wished for. When they did look at the photo, it turns out that the camera caught the exact moment their next chapter started.
