Is there a more romantic setting than the open mic night at the 225th American Astronomical Society meeting? Yes, absolutely. But that's the first time we can confirm being in the same room. Nicole slammed a poem, Trevor swooned in the audience (not really, but maybe). ANYWAY, flash forward to 2016. We form a band called Night Lunch and become good friends. In 2017, we spent 40 hours in a car driving to Los Angeles to pick up a drum set and became BEST friends. Unbeknownst to us, Trevor's parents met Nicole and predicted the two were perfect for each other. In 2018, they were proved right! That year, Nicole and Trevor fell in love and ate a lot of pancakes together.
That first year, we discovered friendship and love were a great combination. We moved in together. We cooked many delicious meals for each other, and for our family of friends. We started an expansive board game collection. We curated an extravagant assortment of teas, coffees, and various brewing contraptions. But most important of all, we found the wrinkliest little sock to add to our lives. That sock's name was Pod. In February of 2019, we brought home the grumpiest, laziest, most disrespectful dachshund that has ever existed: Poderosa I-Can-Sleep-Anywhere-I-Want-Just-Watch-Me Don-Wallanchez. Though we suffered through early mornings, razor sharp puppy teeth, and the difficulties of finding clothes that fit her long little sock body, she has become an integral part of our family.
In late November of 2018 with a sleepy Nicole snuggled by his side, Trevor had a thought: this was IT. He had never felt so happy, so content, and he could easily imagine spending the rest of his life with Nicole. But that was silly! They hadn't even been together for a year! Nevertheless, every day that passed reaffirmed that thought: This just made sense. Trevor wanted to spend the rest of his life with Nicole: traveling to far off places, demolishing towers of seafood, snuggling a grumpy little dog together. Even during the hard times, from raising a puppy to dealing with a collapsing apartment, they were an amazing team. At the beginning of 2020, our two heroes have begun planning their future together: life goals, travel plans, ring sizes, etc. Some of those plans were....interrupted, let's say, due to world events. But on June 26th 2020, Trevor took Nicole to their favorite little park and proposed. Ever since, we've been planning the perfect celebration of our love: an intimate gathering of 50 of our closest friends and family (that's you!). We can't wait.
