Our story started off a bit different than normal couples . In the beginning Nicole actually really disliked Shay. They both worked out at the same gym and would frequently see each other, but Nicole made it a point to always avoid Shay and if by chance they made eye contact Nicole would roll her eyes or give him the death glare. It wasn’t that Nicole was disgusted by Shay, she was annoyed because he would hog multiple machines at once and it would get in the way of her workouts. Shay on the other hand was oblivious to everything, he would smile and wave at everyone and had no idea Nicole disliked him so much. Over the months during pandemic Shay’s work schedule got busier and Nicole wouldn’t see him as often and eventually she sort of just forgot about him. Until one day maybe 6 months after not seeing each other Shay returned to the gym and it just so happened that Nicole was there as well. She immediately took notice and for the first time she wasn’t upset about seeing him, she was excited! He looked different! From that point on she started to watch Shay more and would even try to time her workouts to the times she knew he would be there (creeper)… She began telling her friends about this “Guy” at the gym and they began asking questions and encouraging her to begin dropping hints. But as previously mentioned Shay was oblivious to everything until he started noticing she would come closer and hang around a bit longer. So one day, Shay asked “Hey, do mind me asking what your name is?” which of course she replied with “Nicole”. But Shay said something immediately after that he still cringes at to this day! “Oh, Nicole? That’s better than the name I had for you in my mind” Nicole puzzled, asked “What did you think my name was?” Shay’s response will go down as the lamest pickup line to date “Oh, I thought your name was “Lashes” cuz you always have your lashes done”…. Moment of silence ……. To Shay’s surprise Nicole didn’t run away and never speak to him again, she politely laughed and said it was nice meeting you. Both left the gym that day with butterflies, Nicole immediately messaging her group chat and screaming that she finally spoke to the “Guy” and Shay heading home and immediately trying to find Nicole on social media. Shay unfortunately isn’t an FBI agent and couldn’t locate Nicole. Nicole on the other hand had already previously located Shay and was just waiting on the opportunity to add him. That same afternoon they began messaging each other and Shay asked Nicole out for a late lunch, their first date was at Covid friendly restaurant called My Thai Maui, the vibes were nervous all around but they managed to make it through. The same night Shay couldn’t resist and asked Nicole if she would like to watch a movie, she said Yes and the rest is History!
