We met at the school we both work at when Nicole started in 2018. We were acquaintances for several years until Scooter started to spend time with Nicole's special education students. He had a fun time joking around with them and teaching them about what he does at the school. Some of them even helped him out! We started to get to know each other a little bit more but still were not close.

While we technically met at work, we did not really get to know each other until we matched on a dating app! Yup, we are the weirdos that did not go on a date until we matched on the internet even though we knew each other in person! Guess we just needed that push to know we both were interested. Quickly after we matched, we went on a first date on October 16th, 2021. We realized how much we had in common and could talk for hours. Ever since then, we have been together!

One Saturday, we were getting ready for a camping and fishing adventure in one of our favorite spots, Big Stone! Scooter had been up all night, barely sleeping in anticipation of proposing. Nicole had gone to Scooter's to help him pack for the adventure we no idea their lives were about to change. Scooter had this amazing plan to propose on their adventure, but he just could not wait want longer! He asked Nicole if she wanted to do something really fun and she replied "sure??" then Scooter asked Nicole if she wants to get married. The answer, of course, was "YES"! Although it wasn't Scooter's plan, it was the perfect time. We went to a family Cinco de Mayo party after this, which allowed us to share our joy with those we love. Then we went off on our adventure and watched the sunset as we arrived. The day turned to night and the sky lite up with stars while relaxed around the campfire to end a day we would never forget.
