It all started on the steps of Chinchilla's, a beach bar in St. Kitts. Samson approached Nicole, and a friend who didn't realize Samson was also a student, who gave him a false name. He sadly retreated. After basically blowing him off that night, Samson didn't plan on paying any attention to Nicole ever again. A few weeks later, after training really hard for his performance of a life time at the Mr. Ross event, Samson accomplished what he set out to do and caught the eye of a "new girl".....Nicole. Go figure the song that Samson danced to was "Pony". They spoke briefly that night, Nicole congratulating Samson for a great performance and they went their separate ways. A week later they bumped into each other at a roof top party where Nicole got a glimpse of Samson's "awesome" dance moves. They met up again the following day at Beachfest where they realized they really enjoyed each others company! They spent the rest of their time at Ross competing for the best grades and having a ton of fun!
Nicole "jokingly" gave Samson a set of rules he had to follow if they were ever to get engaged...... 1. Make sure her nails were done 2. It had to be video taped or photographed 3. It had to be a surprise 4. Under NO circumstances could it be in front of a large group of people, on a stage etc. We all know how great boys follow directions... I actually thought Samson was mad at me that night....we were at the end of semester banquet and he was being very weird, not talking to me and didn't eat. While we were standing watching the slide show of pictures and videos of his semester, he grabbed my arm and pulled me away. I didn't realize until it was too late that he was pulling me up in front of the screen!! After some serenading and dancing to "our song", he got down on his knee! It took a minute for me to realize exactly what was going on and a few times of screaming YES over the loud music and screaming audience before I was able to get him off his knee! His proposal was everything I wanted and didn't want but it was absolutely Samson style and perfect. My nails were done for banquet, there was not only a photographer but SO many people taking video and pictures on their phones and a TOTAL surprise. I guess I should have known I wasn't going to win the "not in front of a big crowd" point. I later found out that he had been working all semester, secretly planning this with one of our good friends and class representative to put the slide show together. (Thanks again Sam!)
