We met at the McHenry Hospital when Nicole was hired as an anesthesia tech and I had already been working as a surgical nurse for over a year. We pretty quickly hit it off, bonding over very similar music tastes and a love for baseball (despite Nicole rooting for the wrong team). We started hanging out together outside of work, and after each time I just wanted to see her again and again. But there was one moment in particular that stopped me in my tracks and really sold me that this was the woman that I needed in my life. One night we were out on the town with a group of her friends and we ended up at a place in town where there is a DJ and dancing. Now I am not a dancer, I never have been. Not only have I never really enjoyed it I am also quite terrible at it, it's just not for me. I fully expected to sit at the bar and hang out with some of the other guys in the group while the girls all danced. I looked out at the floor and saw Nicole dancing truly like no one was watching, having the time of her life. She looked back at me and waved me out to join her. Before this I would have never gone out there, not even a chance, I would have declined and stayed put. There was no way I would go. But something in that moment was different, all I wanted to do was go out and join her. And so I did, and that is when I knew this was the girl for me because she is the only one thing that would have gotten me out on that dance floor. We should all be lucky enough to find someone that makes us want to dance.
