Rexly and Nikki were initially classmates in French class at Niles West High School where they got to know each other during their freshman and sophomore years. However, they didn't start dating until their junior year. They spent their first date walking after school to Village Creamery where Rexly tried to convince Nikki to have a bubble shake. Thirteen years later, they're finally engaged and Nikki now has an appreciation for some bubble tea flavors.

Rexly and Nikki were celebrating their thirteenth anniversary in Chicago. Rexly first took Nikki to an early brunch restaurant, which is their favorite kind of meal! After a quick stroll through the nearby farmers' market, Rexly showed Nikki the first surprise of the day: a photoshoot session in Lincoln Park for their anniversary. As they took photos throughout different spots in the area, their loved ones slowly gathered near The Honeycomb theater at the park. When they got to the Honeycomb, they took a few more photos together before Rexly turned to Nikki and kneeled. Rexly told Nikki that she meant the world to him, and the last 13 years have been extraordinary because of her. He couldn't think of spending life without her, and as he pulled out the ring he asked her to marry him. Half smiling and half crying, she said yes while their loved ones cheered from the side.
