On December 20th, 2019 I came home from work and was starting to enjoy myself since my Winter Break had finally begun. As Mike and I were hanging out at home, I asked Mike if we could open up an early Christmas present. I tend to ask him this often before the holidays and as always, Mike strongly tells me 'NO.' As I jokingly pestered him about wanting to open up an early Christmas present, Mike went upstairs. I didn't think anything of it. I was too busy thinking about our plans for the night and how happy I was to be on Winter Break for the next 10 days! I heard some rustling noises from upstairs, but I didn’t give it a second thought because I knew Mike would never let me open an early present. When I turned around on the couch, Mike was on one knee in our living room with a blue little box in his hand showing me my beautiful engagement ring and was asking me to marry him. From that moment on, everything was a blur. I was in complete shock, not expecting this moment to happen at all. I stood up and snatched the ring right from Mike's hands and put it on myself! We talked, hugged, kissed, and laughed and I ran out the door to get a fresh manicure before we celebrated at the Sixers game that night. We always joke about how I ran out on Mike after he proposed. Don't worry, I promise I won't run away or rip the ring out of his hand on our wedding day.
