The Stanley Hotel

The Stanley Hotel inspired the Overlook Hotel in Stephen King's novel The Shining. Fun place to take photos or stop for a drink.

Lily Lake

Flat, 0.8 mile lake loop walk really close to the wedding venue. No national park permit necessary but great views of Long's Peak!

Bear Lake Trailhead (RMNP) - Drive or Hiking

Beautiful place to drive to & popular trailhead within Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP; might need to park at PnR within the park and bus to it in August). Our favorite hikes are Bear Lake loop (easy/0.7 mile), Emerald Lake (moderate/3.2 miles), Odessa Lake (hard/8.3 miles). **Please look at RMNP website for most up-to-date timed entry reservation requirements.

Chasm Lake Hike

Hard but beautiful day hike within Rocky Mountain National Park (trailhead is very close to Dao House). **Please check RMNP website for most up-to-date timed entry reservation permit requirements.

Horse Back Riding

Elkhorn Stables at Dao House offers guided horseback tours (additional cost). Please reserve ahead of time.

Our Hometown! If you get into Colorado early, highly recommend you check it out. 1. Float Clear Creek (free to do, but tube rentals are ~$20) 2. Cafe 13 (brunch/lunch) 3. Sherpa House or Thai Gold (dinner) 4. Pangea (coffee) 5. Golden Sweets (ice cream) 6. Breweries: Golden Mill, GCB, New Terrain, or do a Coors Factory Tour (need reservation) 7. Hike South Table 8. Drive up Lookout Mountain (has the "M") 9. Lovely walk along Clear Creek
