It has come to our attention that there are numerous positive Covid tests post wedding. So far, colds/mostly mild symptoms. Our sincerest, heartfelt apologies to anyone that may have been exposed at our wedding.
Prison time is slow time. Mike was locked up in the Grey Bar Hotel, whittling away the days, when he clicked on a personal ad in one of those jailhouse dating service websites, and up popped a pretty brunette, and- Naw. Here's how it really started. Height of the pandemic, 2020. Great times all around. Old friend (they haven't talked in a while) drops off some Treehouse beer at Mike's place, out of nowhere. He thanks her and they text chat for a bit. Afterwards, old friend's girlfriend asks old friend if Mike is still single. "I think so. Why?" "How about Nicole for him?" You see, old friend's girlfriend had worked with Nicole before, and old friend had grown up in the same town as Nicole. Lots of mutual connections. "That could work. Let me check." Nicole is contacted. "Have you ever met this person before?" from the couple, with a picture of Mike. A no from Nicole. "He likes boxing and dogs. Want to meet him?" A go-ahead is given. A day later, a text to Mike, with contact details: "This is Nicole. She's waiting for your message." Am I really going to meet someone in a pandemic? The world is crazy. Is this the right time? Maybe I should just hold off - What the hell. Let me say hello. The rest, as they say, is history. :)
