We met by complete chance—at a gym neither of us usually went to. I was finishing a workout when I asked him if he was using a pair of dumbbells. He noticed the necklace I was wearing and asked what language it was. “Assyrian,” I said. He smiled and replied, “I’m Assyrian too.” In that small exchange, something shifted. What followed felt almost surreal—we discovered we were both from Chicago, both living in Porter Ranch, and somehow, both at that exact place, at that exact moment. It felt like more than coincidence. A few weeks later, our parents randomly crossed paths at the mall and instantly recognized the connection. After that, our worlds kept gently pulling us back toward each other—at events, through friends, in moments that felt quiet but significant. Then, in January 2024, we finally went on our first date. It felt like home—like we had known each other forever. Since then, we haven’t looked back. Everything about us has felt easy, natural, and deeply meant to be. What started as a brief moment turned into the love of our lives—and now, we get to spend forever together.
