We recommend that you land in Palma by Wed, May 27th. We purposely chose the week of Memorial Day (Mon, May 25th)! Mallorca is BEAUTIFUL and worth exploring for a few days before/after <3 The Catamaran/ Welcome Party being Friday, May 29th! Because this is a redeye flight, it's nice to have a full 24 hours to rest and recover before the festivities begin!
If you are connecting your flight into palma, plan for 2 ½- 3 hours between landing and boarding your flights to Palma. Currency - Spain uses euros! You can buy them at your bank prior to entering Spain. How to get around Mallorca? If you plan to rent a car - book in advance and contact your hotel to book parking in advance as well. They may not be able to accommodate your vehicle if you do not reserve a space in advance. Make sure you have an adaptable wall charger, amazon has plenty of options. For the ladies- if you have dyson hair dryer, unfortunately dysons do not work in europe. Plan to use the hair dryer the hotel provides! Download the app TIMESHIFTER, this will help you adjust to a new time zone and alleviate jet lag symptoms. Your first trip on this app is FREE, if you travel often you can choose to purchase a subscription as well after you test it out! Most places are credit card friendly (make sure you notify your bank in advance) if you choose to bring cash, bus and taxi drivers do not have change for bigger bills so it is a good idea to be stocked up on smaller bills and coins. Most restaurants open for lunch 1-4pm and dinner 8pm-1am. Prepare to eat late! European cultures in general do not have a tipping culture. Of course it is always appreciated if you had a great experience. In high traffic tourist areas keep your belongings close and be aware of vendors that get suspiciously close. Traveling in the city is easy, there are plenty of taxis within Palma. If you are looking to explore outside of the city consider renting a car or scheduling/preplanning transportation. You can rent a car from OFF U GO. They have brand new cars (also automatic) and great rates (there’s no deposit or hidden rates). The pick up and drop off are contactless, what makes the experience even better.
