Downtown Chicago (the Loop) has a lot going on and can be a fun place to visit, but we find that the heart of Chicago can truly be found in its many neighborhoods. If you'd like to venture into the city for an afternoon in areas of Chicago that are not the Loop, we recommend checking out Lincoln Park, Roscoe Village, and Lincoln Square.
