In ending of 2020, during the midst of a global pandemic, I made the decision to leave behind my life in Miami and start anew in Madrid, Spain. Accompanied only by my dog, Ziggy. During a pandemic It was obviously very hard to meet anyone, but since I did not know anyone in Madrid my only result was using dating apps such as Bumble. As we chatted through the app, he mentioned he was obsessed with Burgers. Being that I only had a month living in Madrid, I asked him to show me a good burger joint in the Spanish city because I had not yet had one. Our first meeting was at a burger joint, which Manu loves to bring up that I arrived 20 minutes late to. He was waiting outside by his motorcycle and as I walked up to the restaurant I saw him waiting by his motorcycle with his is long hair towering over most people walking past him. I knew I made the right decision to meet up with him.
