This is a medieval-themed wedding, so we encourage people to dress to the theme. Renaissance, Medieval, etc. We want all guests to feel as if they are lords and ladies of the court! Of course, normal semi-formal to formal wedding attire is also perfectly fine, but if you're feeling daring, please feel free to add a small thematic 'twist' to a traditional wedding outfit to embrace the spirit of the event. Examples for men might include wearing a tie with a fun thematic pattern, wearing a shirt or undershirt with ruffled sleeves, bringing a stylish cane, having an elegant handkerchief in your breast pocket, wearing a nice hat, having a nice brocade pattern on your suit or undershirt, or even wearing some sort thematic rings or accessories. Examples for women might include wearing a medieval or renaissance-style dress or skirt, having a nice hat or headwear, wearing thematic jewelry or accessories, bringing a vintage bag or clutch, wearing a flower crown, or even dressing as a true lady of the court! NOTE! It will be autumn, so dressing a bit warmly is advised.
Please do not wear any white or white-adjacent dresses. Please do not wear super informal clothing (i.e. T-shirts, jean shorts, flip-flops). The ground is grassy and unpaved in spots, so stiletto or very thin heels are not advised.
No, we will not have a gift registry. We respectfully request that all gifts be monetary, as transporting large physical gifts to Denmark due to international customs laws and limited luggage space would be quite challenging and costly. Thank you!
The menu is still under development, but we are trying to craft a medieval-themed menu. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions, and we will do our best to accommodate. More details to come!
Yes, we will have alcoholic drinks freely available for our of-age guests. However, we will not have a large variety of specialized drinks or particular alcohol brands - just the basics.
Yes, kids are welcome! However we do ask that if you have a baby or very young child and they get fussy during the official wedding ceremony, to please excuse yourselves temporarily. It will of course also be your responsibility to monitor your children as the grounds are quite large and there is a pond on the property.
Regular pets, we kindly request that you leave at home. Service animals are welcome, but they must be kept leashed, and it is your responsibility to clean up after them and be mindful of any guests with allergies.
Smoking/vaping is NOT allowed inside the castle building. On the grounds outside the castle building, we firmly request that any smoking or vaping occurs out of the way in a designated area, where the other guests cannot smell anything, as some guests are asthmatic and there will be children there. Any butts must be disposed of in designated receptacles. DO NOT put any cigarette butts in the pond! There are koi fish in there, and if one of them eats it, they could die. You can however feed the koi fish with specific koi food which will be provided :)
