Nicole and Killian met their freshman year at Loras College in Dubuque IA. They had many mutual friends and frequently hung out together. At some point in their friendship Killian began calling Nicole his girlfriend as a "joke" and I guess it stuck. Since then their friendship has blossomed into a beautiful relationship spanning over the last 5 years.

On July 3rd Nicole and Killian headed to one of their favorites places, Elisabeth Newell's (maid of honor) family cabin on the river. Nicole thought they were going for a day full of fun to celebrate the 4th of July. Little did she know Killian had something better planned. At a beautiful spot overlooking the water there was a blanket laid down and rose petals scattered around. It was there that Killian got down on one knee and asked Nicole to spend the rest of their lives together. As if that was not enough, upon entering the cabin they were greeted by their closest family and friends including their 2 day old niece who came straight from the hospital.
