Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Nicole Rieu and John Lowe
Nicole & John’s favorite things to do Here are a few things we recommend in Antibes and Cannes. The previous weekend is expected to be busy, so be sure to make reservations if you wish to lunch or dine at a specific place. We also recommend exploring various activities across different locations in the area.

Cap d'Antibes

Antibes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 06160, France

Hike the Cap d’Antibes hiking trail that ends at billionaires bay for a dip in the sea (beware of the jelly fish, John got stung here on his way to find a rock to jump off of). The trail starts at Plage Keller (Plage de la Groupe). Bring a towel and plenty of water. It is about 2 miles of hiking along the water. Rating 1000000/10.

Antibes Old Town

10 Rue Thuret, Antibes, 06600, France

Explore Antibes old town and enjoy the appetizer tasting platter at Bistro Chez Jules (best calamari and tomatoes - order the Plateau D’Entres) Chez Jules - 10/10 Old Town - 10/10; museums, shops, etc.

Plage Keller (by Plage de la Garoupe)

1035 Chem. de la Garoupe, Antibes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 06160, France

Beach club at Plage de la Garoupe Beach with nice places to sit and relax. Light music, good food. Great spot to read a book and chill.

La Môme (Cannes)

6 Rue Florian, Cannes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 06400, France

For a vibey dinner in Cannes, La Môme will not disappoint! Excellent food combined with one of the best atmospheres we have ever experienced. Dinner - 10/10; reservation required

Mamo Michelangelo (Old Town Antibes)

4 Rue des Cordiers, Antibes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 06600, France

For a more lively environment, Mamo in Old Town has amazing Italian - French food and a very fun atmosphere.

Mamalu

11 Cours Masséna, Antibes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 06600, France

Quaint Italian restaurant, Mamalu, in Antibes old town that satisfied John’s pasta cravings.

Juan les Pins - Walking / Running Paths Around the Coast Line

Antibes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 06160, France

Walking / running paths from Juan Les pins along the coast are nice for a short or long run. Nicole and John love waking up and going for a short jog to start the day, followed by a plunge into the Mediterranean.

Èze

Èze, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 06360, France

One of our favorite days on the Côte d’Azur was a morning day trip to the beautiful Eze village with a light lunch in the town looking over the Mediterranean, then hike down the train station, where we called a short Uber to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat trail head and walked along the peninsula with many places to jump in the sea along the way and end at Paloma beach (pro tip: wear comfortable shoes, Nicole learned the hard way). A day trip to Eze with lunch looking out from the cliffs onto the Mediterranean is a very memorable time.

Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat

Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 06230, France

If you like beach hikes, we’d recommend going to do the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat trail. It is 3.5 miles. While you have an incredible beach walk around Antibes, this beach walk is worth the trip over to Cap Ferrat. We'd recommend getting there early, doing the beach walk (where you will be able to jump in to the Mediterranean at various points along the way), and finding your way to one of beach clubs. Rating: 100000/10

La Guérite - Cannes

Cannes - Île Sainte-Marguerite, Cannes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 06400, France

Best day of our lives (outside of our wedding day of course) was at La Guérite and fun fact John was wearing a La Guérite hat when he met Nicole back in 2022. This is a beach club on an island off of Cannes. It requires booking well in advance, and is expensive. You will need to get a car to the docks in Cannes, and then take a boat to the island. That said, it lives up to the hype. Please reach out to Nicole or John if you are considering going. Rating: Too Good To Rate

Provence

(Aix-en-Provence and Avignon Regions) is about a 2.5 hour drive from Antibes. It will be lavender season (mid-June to mid-July), so if you fancy a glass of rose overlooking lavender fields in bloom that dream could come true! Towns we like are Gordes, Roussillon, and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. If you decide to go visit Provence, you can rent a car from Antibes. You must have a car to get around this area. Also, the drive is amazing and very beautiful with breathtaking views of the French countryside.

Gordes & Roussillon (Towns around Avignon & Aix-en-Provence)

Gordes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 84220, France

There are two amazing town in the Luberon Valley, which is about a 2.5 to 3 hour drive from Antibes. It is an UNBELIEVEABLE drive through the French country side to these towns, which have breath-taking views of the surrounding areas. Gordes was ranked as the #1 town in the world. Lavender fields should be in bloom as well!

L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue

L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur 84800, France

Wonderful town on the river that has a spectacular flee market on certain days of the week
