Similar to other traditions, the Greek Wedding Ceremony is a Holy Sacrament that joins the bride and groom together in the eyes of God. The main parts of the ceremony consist of the joining of hands, lighting of candles, and the highlight of the sacrament - "the crowning". Unlike other wedding ceremonies, the bride and groom don't speak (no vows said to each other), and a first kiss is not part of the Orthodox ceremony, however, the priest will allow for this expression of love.
