Things To Do

We're so excited to share some of our favorite places with you! Don't be shy about reaching out with questions. Asheville is known for the insane amount of breweries (a good chunk are in South Slope downtown). It's also very much a foodie town so what I've listed below just scratches the surface. I would think about reservations in advance!

Hiking

The best part about visiting Asheville! You will need a car to get to any of the trailheads. Our favorites are Looking Glass Rock (6 miles), and Craggy Gardens Trail (2.2 miles) and Craggy Pinnacle Trail (1 mile, same area as Craggy Gardens if you want to do both!) There are many options to choose from - check out the website we listed or All Trails for other great options.

Drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway

If you are not into hiking but want to enjoy the views, take a scenic drive along the parkway.

Tour The Biltmore

1 Lodge Street, Asheville, NC 28803

Visit their website for information on pricing and tours. Even if you don't go inside, the grounds are beautiful especially in the spring!

The Omni Grove Park Inn

290 Macon Avenue, Asheville, NC 28804

Beautiful, historic hotel with amazing views. They have a full restaurant you can make reservations at, but you can also just walk in and enjoy a drink on the back patio!

Chestnut

48 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

We've been here for dinner twice and loved it both times!

Cúrate

13 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

Upscale tapas, make a reservation in advance if you're interested.

Twisted Laurel Downtown Asheville

130 College Street, Asheville, NC 28801

More family friendly, with a simple but delicious menu!

Pack's Tavern

20 South Spruce Street, Asheville, NC 28801

Classic no frills restaurant with a wide variety. Good place for larger groups and kid friendly.

Biscuit Head

417 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

This is THE Asheville staple for any type of biscuit based breakfast. There are multiple locations, this is the closest to downtown. No matter where you go you can expect it to be busy, but they move quick!

Double D's Coffee & Desserts

41 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

Double Decker bus serving coffee and a few pastries that's a 10 minute walk from the Hilton Garden Inn.

Taco Billy

201 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC 28806

Amazing breakfast tacos in West Asheville, but you'll have to get there early!

Sunny Point Café

626 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC 28806

Another great spot in West Asheville. But be warned, just like Taco Billy you will need to get here early if you want a table. Always call and check the wait!

12 Bones Smokehouse RIVER

5 Foundy Street, Asheville, NC 28801

Excellent BBQ in the River Arts District, closed on Saturdays.

Luella’s Bar-B-Que

501 Merrimon Avenue, Asheville, NC 28804

This is a little bit of a random location but if you have a car and want good barbeque on Saturday when 12 Bones is closed, go here!

Ben's Tune Up

195 Hilliard Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

An auto shop converted into a Sake Brewery downtown. Even if you only stop in for one flavor infused shot, it's worth checking out.

The Funkatorium

147 Coxe Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

Owned by Wicked Weed, the Funkatorium has the BEST sours.

Wicked Weed Brewing's Brewpub

91 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

One of our favorite breweries with craft pub food, cocktails, wine and many N/A options.

Burial Beer Co. Asheville Taproom

40 Collier Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

Downtown brewery known for their mural of the Goonies!

New Belgium Brewing Company

21 Craven Street, Asheville, NC 28806

Right on the river in the River Arts District. It always has food trucks and often has events on the lawn if you check their website/Instagram. You can also book a tour!

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

100 Sierra Nevada Way, Mills River, NC 28732

This is right by the airport, so a bit further out but a massive indoor/outdoor facility. You can go for food, drinks, a tour, or live music (check ahead).
