"Knock, Knock…." For Ian and Nicole those jokes will always mean something special - not just because of Ian's undeniable witty sense of humor - but because of the unlikely way they met 4 summers ago. On May 27th 2015, one day after Ian's 27th birthday, Nicole knocked on Ian's New York City apartment door where she was looking for an open house. Nicole had inadvertently knocked on the wrong door for the open house, as well as arrived a hour late for the showing. However, what transpired next was more magical than any 6 X 6 NYC bedroom could provide. Ian and Nicole struck up a conversation that continued at drinks a week later at a local wine bar called Adalya. The two continued to see each other over the next 3 months but as the summer came to a close they both had to say good-bye as Ian moved to Philadelphia and Nicole remained in New York City. While the story may have ended there, distance only made the heart grow fonder. Through FaceTime, the magic of BoltBus and the "flexible" schedule of both the New York Public Education system and business school, Nicole and Ian found themselves together for the next two years before Ian moved back to New York City. It was there they found themselves on November 2, 2018 with Ian convincing Nicole to meet him for a Friday Happy Hour at Adalya. Back where it all started, he asked her to marry him. After considering it for a few hours, including a white-board session where she broke out the pros/cons, she agreed to go along for the ride - as long as they got a puppy.
