Charlottesville Airport is ~20 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. Direct flights are limited- only from Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, and NYC- otherwise will have to connect.

Richmond Airport is ~ 1 hr 15 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. Though a longer drive, it is a much larger airport with many more direct flights so it sometimes can be easier to fly to Richmond and rent a car/carpool to get to Cville.
