Henry and Nicole met in early 2016 at Webcor, the general contracting company that they both still work for. Nicole was assigned the task of taking Henry's company headshot. After the headshot, the two parted ways and didn’t really speak again until two years later when they both attended a co-worker’s birthday party. There they got to talking, and though they didn’t exactly get along at first, they later chatted extensively about their similarities and built the foundation for a friendship. A little while after this, Nicole had the bright idea of setting Henry up with one of her best friends – luckily, that didn’t work out for either party, and a short time after Nicole and Henry began dating. Fittingly, they got together on April 1st, better known as April Fools Day, a beloved practical joke holiday. To this day, Henry still wishes Nicole would just tell people that they got together on March 31st. Jokes aside though, their casual courtship soon became a serious relationship, with each saying ‘I love you’ just four months after they officially started dating. Nicole remembers first blurting out ‘I love you’ accidentally (or was it?) before hanging up the phone one day when she called Henry after work. The next time they saw each other Nicole brought up the accident, feeling embarrassed and though Henry didn’t remember her saying it on the phone, he quickly replied that he loved her back. In 2020, knowing that the two wanted to get married, they began the process of designing Nicole’s ring together. In 2021, Henry popped the question, asking his best friend to be his wife, in scenic Santa Barbara at the lush Botanic Gardens.
