Many like to say that Graeson's grandpa Toledo brought these two together. Nicole is the Director of Marketing for a luxury retirement residence, where Mr. Luis and Mrs. Alicia Toledo resided. She loved Luis and Alicia, as there were easily one of her favorite residents, and definitely her favorite couple who lived there. She grew close to them, not knowing Graeson. When Graeson graduated from Humboldt State, he moved back to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, Mr. Toledo passed away that September, 2012 (and we miss him, his laugh, his yelling, his smile dearly). Some say with death, comes life and although life was not a baby, it was a relationship. Graeson and Nicole met while celebrating the life of Grandpa Luis Toledo. Graeson asked for Nicole's number before parting ways and called her the next day to ask her on a date. Nicole slept through the time of their first date, as many know nothing wakes her up. But Graeson pursued again, and they went out together and have since been the best of friends and life partners.

Graeson and Nicole joined the Toledo family for Christmas in Palm Springs, December 2016. Since Graeson's birthday is December 28, they decided to stay the week in Palm Springs to celebrate. Little did Nicole know, that Graeson had an entire plan, with her family and his family involved. On the morning of his birthday, Nicole took Graeson out for breakfast to celebrate before heading to the Arial Tram up the mountain. When they arrived (30 min before it's opening) there was a 4 hour wait to get to the top of the mountain. Nicole insisted that they do something else to celebrate, she did not want him to have to wait 4 hours on his birthday, but Graeson wanted to stay and keep to the plan. They got their tickets, and hiked around the mountain while waiting for their tram time. When they finally got to the top of the mountain, they played in the snow, built a snowman and had a snowball fight, Graeson asked Nicole to find somewhere to sit. Nicole found a log, wiped off the snow, turned around to sit and saw Graeson down on one knee. Nicole immediately began to cry, as Graeson pulled out a beautiful (family heirloom) diamond ring and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. Nicole continued to cry as she found out his whole family knew at Christmas, and when Graeson told her he took her dad, Bassam out to lunch the week before to ask his permission. They headed back to their time share, and the door flew open with Nicole's friends and family, who Graeson invited to surprise her and celebrate! Nicole and Graeson are so thankful to have such a supportive and loving family to helped make this the best day!
