Our story began unexpectedly in October of 2023. I was meeting a friend, Nicole, at Starbucks to lend her something when she brought along a friend named Franky. Although we had all attended John A. Ferguson Sr. High School and shared Nicole as a mutual friend, Franky and I had never actually met. We exchanged a quick hello and goodbye, unaware that this brief moment would one day mean so much more. Two months later, Franky unexpectedly walked into CDA Miami—my church. That evening, my best friend Gaby and I went to greet him and his friend Alain, whom I had known back in middle school. We soon learned they had come after seeing a repost Gaby and I shared about a CDA Christmas Youth event happening that night. As we introduced ourselves, I didn’t recognize Franky at first, but he immediately recognized me! This was a moment that made the reunion both memorable and hilarious. Franky, Alain, Gaby and I continued attending church consistently, and before long, we all grew incredibly close. Together, we were drawing nearer to Jesus, deepening our faith, and building genuine friendships which was an experience that was truly lovely. What began as an unexpected encounter slowly grew into a meaningful friendship. In July of 2024, that friendship blossomed into something deeper… and the rest is a story we are so grateful to be living together. Above all, we are endlessly thankful to God for this beautiful blessing.
