What am I required to do before traveling to Hawaii?

Answer

Travelers from the U.S. or its Territories must create an online account on the State of Hawai‘i’s Safe Travels Hawai‘i website and enter your trip information including vaccination status or covid-19 test results. Adults traveling with children will add their children to their account. Is there a vaccine mandate or testing requirement in Hawaii?

Answer

Hawaii guidelines are constantly changing due to the uncertain climate of Covid-19. Currently, in order to by pass the 5 day mandatory quarantine one must show proof of full vaccination or a negative NAAT test from a trusted partner for ages 5 and up. Some restaurants and indoor activities require full vaccination or negative Covid-19 test. The governor of Hawaii is in talks of requiring a booster shot to be considered fully vaccinated. Should I bring a hard copy/ vaccine card to Hawaii even if I am pre-approved from Safe Travels Hawaii?

Answer

Yes, it is always safe to have hard copy of vaccine card or negative test just in case.

I am planning to island hop while I am in Hawaii, is there any restrictions when traveling between islands?

Answer

There are no restrictions when traveling to other islands, unless that specific island has their own rules. Currently Oahu and Maui require boosters to be considered fully vaccinated

I am traveling internationally to Hawaii, what am I required to do before travel?

Answer

If internationally traveling directly to Hawaii, please follow the US federal travel rules currently in place. It will not be necessary to create an account on Safe Travels Hawaii. If traveling internationally to Hawaii with a stop over in a US city, please follow the US federal travel rules as well as creating an account in Safe Travels Hawaii for the domestic portion of the trip.
