It was the night of Nicole's grandmother's 90th birthday dinner. After dinner Nanny fell asleep, so Nicole and her dad Robert went out to some bars in Boca. Derek was living in Naples, but happened to be in Boca visiting his friend from Lynn University. Nicole and Derek both ended up a the crappiest bar in Boca...Nippers. Derek saw Nicole with Robert and was instantly attracted to her. While Nicole was mingling, Derek asked her father who she was and if he could get her number. Derek was surprised, but happy, when Robert stated that Nicole was his daughter. Derek was following Nicole around the bar, but there was another young lady getting in his way. Then finally Nicole walked up to the bar to get a drink and ended up right where she was supposed to be....next to Derek. That was Derek's opportunity and he went for it! He told her that her "liked her style" ask if he could take her out for dinner. Nicole was pleased by that and gave Derek her number. The next day Derek called Nicole and took her out to dinner in Miami. The 1st thing he ordered was Oysters and for those who know Nicole that was the 1st step to winning over her heart. After their wonderful 1st date Derek went back to Naples and they started a long distance relationship. They would take turns driving from one side of the coast to the other every weekend for 7 months. Then Derek moved to the east coast to be with Nicole and they started a life together. After a few years of dating Derek put a beautiful ring in an oyster and ask Nicole to be his wife...to be with him forever...she said Yes!
