We're so excited to celebrate with you!

Davis and Nicole met on May 17th, 2014 at his parents' house for his sister's graduation party. His sister is Nicole's "Big" in Alpha Phi at Washburn and had been friends for awhile. Nicole had heard of Davis a few times, but had never been formally introduced until that day. They carried on with some casual conversation, a little light-hearted trash talking over yard games and each made a mental note that there was something about the other they liked.

Knowing that Nicole isn’t a huge fan of having the spotlight on her, Davis wanted to make the moment special for the two of them. Davis worked with a friend of his who is a photographer to help with the planning process so it all could be captured. The proposal started out with finding a way to get Nicole’s nails done. Davis asked her friend Morgan to take her to get them done without giving the whole plan away. Morgan had her now husband contact Nicole saying that he was going to propose to Morgan & that he needed Nicole to take Morgan to get her nails done. Nicole was completely oblivious to what was going on, even though Morgan & their friends were being picky about Nicole’s color selection for her nails. Davis's sister, Delanie then invited Nicole out to dinner the next night after work. The whole plan was to go down at sunset, so when Nicole chose to stay late at work Davis started to get nervous. Delanie had to rush Nicole to get ready but not be obvious about what was happening. Davis was out at the Lake getting the gazebo set up with the dogs. On the way to dinner Delanie asked if they could go to the lake to look at some spots for her & her boyfriend to take pictures soon. As they were walking around, Nicole got a little suspicious but only thought they were doing some scouting for spots for Davis to propose in the future. Davis was hiding behind the gazebo with the dogs so they would not seen when walking up. The photographer was hiding in the bushes by the lake dressed as a fisherman & Nicole saw him but didn't think anything of it. As she walked to the gazebo, Delanie stopped & let Nicole keep going. Then the dogs emerged from behind the gazebo & walked up greet her. It was that moment that Nicole realized what was happening. As she was processing & petting the dogs, Davis walked up the back of the gazebo & was standing there when she looked up. Then he gave a beautiful speech that neither of them remember due to being in shock & she said yes!
