Nicole and David technically go way back, like to middle school back. They both attended the same two middle schools in 6th and 8th grade, but ran in totally different circles (David knew who Nicole was… Nicole did not know David). In fact, fun fact: David is literally standing behind Nicole in their 8th-grade class yearbook photo. He’s had his eyes on the prize for a long time. Fast forward about 10 years, and God got tired of us waiting to find each other and stepped in by using a mutual friend. This friend went to high school and college with David (Gig ’Em!) and, in the summer of 2022, posted one of David’s college graduation photos on her Instagram story. Nicole immediately DM’d her asking who the very cute guy was. The friend reminded Nicole that this was David, i.e., the same David they both went to middle school with, and offered to set them up. Nicole declined (she was nervous and about to move across the country), but the friend sent David a screenshot of the DM anyway (thank you, you know who you are 😉). David and Nicole started talking on Instagram for a couple of weeks before finally meeting in person at that same friend’s birthday party in August 2022—just about a month before Nicole moved to New York City for her first job. They spent every weekend together until she left, but as friends. Even after the move, they stayed close, hopping on Discord every Sunday night for hours to watch House of the Dragon and talk about everything. Those Sunday night calls quickly became the best part of Nicole’s week. On December 24, 2022, David officially asked Nicole to be his girlfriend (best Christmas Eve ever!). A few months later, during a visit to Nicole in New York, David told her he loved her while they ate sushi and watched Legally Blonde. Nicole, obviously, told him she loved him too. Fast forward to October 29, 2025: after surprising Nicole by planning a cozy reading date at a park in downtown Austin, David surprised Nicole again—this time by proposing! What started in God’s perfect timing has turned into the love of a lifetime. Now, David and Nicole are beyond excited to step into the next chapter of their story as husband and wife, and they can’t wait to celebrate their love with all of you at the wedding!
