How we met

11.16.2015

It was my first day at work and I was super nervous. Apparently they weren't expecting me and so I shadowed Bryan and our friend Jeremy around. I thought he was so cute in his suit and tried not to blush every time I saw him. He thought I was adorable and knew he wanted to get to know me better. He had me go with him to different court dates and depositions that whole week, but I thought he was just being friendly. Needless to say, two weeks later he asked me out and the rest is history!

The Proposal

12.12.2020

So one day Bryan asked me if I wanted to go ring shopping with him or be surprised. I said I wanted to go shopping and he told me about how this guy he knew from gun competitions owns a jewelry store that he wanted to go to. I was skeptical at best, but agreed we could go look there. We traveled to Gainesville and met with Matt Lang at his jewelry store. I'm so happy we did because he designed and made me the most beautiful engagement ring! When we picked up the engagement ring, I thought Bryan would propose immediately... Instead he hid it. I was (impatiently) waiting for a sign or hint of when he would propose, but his response was always, "When you're nice." Anyway, starting pretty much the weekend after we picked up the ring, Bryan started asking me if I wanted to go on the boat with him. My response was always maybe, or no. Fast forward 6 weeks and I started feeling bad for never going out on the boat with him, so I told him we were absolutely going on the boat this weekend. So on Saturday December 12, we went out on the boat in the afternoon to the lake where we had spent so many of our first dates. It wasn't the closest lake to our house, but when I said something Bryan just said he hadn't been on Lake Eden in a while and wanted to go out there. It was a normal fishing afternoon for me, i.e. I didn't catch anything, but when it got close to sunset Bryan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I screamed, said yes, and then started crying when he pulled out the champagne and crystal glasses that he had hidden in the cooler. I was so surprised that he had gotten it all into the boat without me knowing. Turns out, he had been planning on proposing for a while and had everything ready to go... he was just waiting for me to "be nice" and go out on the boat with him!
