Yes, err on the fancier side. Black-tie optional means we'd love it if you pull-out all the stops.
We registered through Zola. They pull all of the sites together. You can find it all in the Registry tab.
While we were able to specifically include a few of the under 21 set on our guest list (Aria and Adrian of course), due to space limitations and our desire to include as many of our grown friends and family as possible, we unfortunately cannot accommodate kids beyond those who received specific invitations. If you are visiting and need help finding a babysitter, please email Nicole at Thorpen@gmail.com

No. The Alexandrian is easily walkable to the ceremony. The Sheraton is a long (but pretty) walk. Uber and Lyft are readily available.
There is street parking near the ceremony. For the reception, there is a garage directly across the street. You can walk between these venues. It is 1 mile downhill from the church to the Torpedo Factory (reception site).
So glad you asked! It's a beautiful walk (or Uber/Lyft) down King Street from the church to the Torpedo factory on the Waterfront. Along the way you will see Alexandria City Hall as well as many bars and restaurants. We particularly like Landini Brothers and The Fish Market. Nicole's true (food) love is Pop's Ice Cream. There will be lots of wonderful food and drink at the reception, but there's always room for ice cream. If food and drink don't strike your fancy, then head to Waterfront Park (at the end of King Street right next to the Torpedo Factory) for some great public art and river views. The reception begins at 6:30pm with cocktail hour (beverages and hors d'oeuvres). Dinner will follow at 7:30pm.
