From the beginning, conversations were easy, laughs were often and there was a real sense of connection. We met online and of course we were nervous the first time we met, but soon the nervousness turned into butterflies. The more time we spent talking about our lives, our goals and what made us happy it was clear that we had something special and worth pursuing. Unfortunately, we lived in different states, so it was not always easy, but we cherished every moment we had together and made them count. Once we started meeting each other’s family and friends our connection grew even stronger and we felt that we really “fit in” to each other’s lives. The big dilemma became who had the better football team. On that issue we learned to agree to disagree, I mean isn’t that one thing every relationship needs? We got engaged August 10th at Anna Ruby Falls in Helen, Georgia. The falls were beautiful, the sound was soothing and there was a cool mist in the air. The walk up to the falls was not an easy one but we both feel it’s a mirror of how relationships work. We both understand that marriage is not always a breeze, but the steps we take along the way make the beauty worth it all. We are more than a couple; we are best friends and are so excited that it’s going to be forever. We are looking forward to revisiting Helen to celebrate our marriage and are so grateful that family and friends will be joining us as we start our journey together.
