I can tell you the exact date we first exchanged any interaction, it was April 16 2016. I was on my way Upstate to spend the weekend in Lake George with my daughter. It was early in the morning, probably 6 am when we left. I got a friendly message from a nice gentleman on my social media account. This message stood out from the rest, a simple “have a nice vacation”. Typically I didn’t respond to messages online but something drew me to him. From that moment on me and Brian spoke daily on the phone, texting & FaceTiming (had to be sure I wasn’t being catfished lol). Some time after that we finally met up, needless to say the rest is history. We hit it off immediately and since that day we have been inseparable.
We had gone out to dinner in the city to a restaurant named Beetle House (a Tim Burton themed restaurant). We enjoyed an amazing dinner and then took the ferry from Manhattan to Long Island City. We walked up and down the pier for a while until we found the perfect secluded spot to take a seat and enjoy the view. We sat for a while, talked and laughed with one another. After sitting there for almost an hour I got up, Brian told me to turn around and close my eyes. When he told me to turn back around there he was on one knee, with the New York City skyline sparkling behind him. At this moment he asked me to marry him and presented me a ring. My first reaction wasn’t exactly what he expected, I started giggling (out of excitement and nerves lol) and eventually said yes. Brian perfectly executed the whole evening and tailored it to include everything I love.
