We met online a week before we met in person, Nikki was the first to message. We started talking non stop within a day & both decided to meet up for our very first date. We met officially at the Pig & Prince restaurant in Montclair NJ (unfortunately the place has closed down since). Ever since that night, we have been inseparable! A month later, Feb 23rd 2016, Jessie made it official by asking Nikki to be her girlfriend. You know the rest :)
We both would talk about getting married / engaged all the time. We actually both went together to pick out our rings in August of that year. It was pretty much clear that the engagement would happen very soon after that! We knew that Jessie was going to be the one to propose but with COVID going on & picking out the rings together, it was pretty tricky to create an element of surprise! With the help of two of our dear friends, Jessie was able to sneakily get Nikki out of the house. Once Nikki was out to lunch, the house was able to get decorated for the big surprise. From the moment Nikki returned, she was greeted by a message on the front door. There were instructions to follow the rose pedals & read each envelope on the way. There were 5 stops depicting our lives together in different unique ways. From keep sakes to photos, all of our love was on display. The final stop brought Nikki to Jessie, where Jessie then asked the important big question!! Nikki of course said yes! & the whole thing was still able to be a lovely surprise <3
