Garden of the Gods is a must see in Colorado Springs. It is a National Natural Landmark with towering red rock formations. There are paved and unpaved paths. You can also take a drive around the park to see the formations. There is also a visitors center to learn about the geological formations, animals, and history of the park.
Manitou Springs is a unique town nestled at the base of Pikes Peak. This town is artsy with a hippie vibe. You will be surrounded by view of the mountains. The main street has many restaurants and shops to explore. Keep your eye out for the seven natural springs of mineral water that you can try. If you are lucky you will see Dennis the Emu.
Pikes Peak or "America's Mountain" sits at 14,107 ft and is the main back drop of Colorado Springs. You can get up to the top of the mountain by driving up the Pikes Peak Highway or taking the Cog Train (Requires Reservations/Tickets). Expect temperatures to be at least 30 degrees cooler than they are in town and please stay hydrated when go up to higher altitudes.
