Travel Note
San Miguel is a walkable city, and exploring on foot is often the best way to get around. However, there are cabs all around town but please be prepared to pay the drivers in pesos. They do not take credit cards. There are ATM machines around town where you will be able to withdraw pesos. Uber is also an option in the city but green taxis will be faster.
Travel Note
Please be sure your passport is up to date before booking your flight. If it expires within 6 months of the wedding we recommend getting it renewed ASAP. Some but not all airlines will not let you fly if it's not within these 6 months. Neither the ceremony nor the reception will take place on grass, so feel free to wear heels! However, for exploring San Miguel during the day, comfortable shoes are a must. The streets are cobblestoned and the area is hilly. If you plan on bringing and using your credit card please be sure to let your credit card companies know that you will be traveling to San Miguel. For pesos we suggest you exchange your money beforehand. You will need to go to your bank here in the U.S. and request pesos at least 3 weeks before your departure. You can also exchange at most banks in Mexico. Exchanging your dollars for pesos in Mexico will require you have your passport on hand when you do so. Please note: San Miguel is 6,234 feet of elevation. So be sure to stay hydrated!
