It was the summer of 2020 in Montauk, NY, but before we continue we need a little backstory. Kara & Phil were out east with Kara's extended family for a week as they do each summer. The Visconti's always love to go over for a visit with the whole clan as Trisha Visconti met Kara's mother Lori nearly 40 years ago when she was a police officer who would see Trisha working in the ER during their shifts. They became friends, Kara was just 4 years old, and quickly their family was intertwined with ours. Lori befriended not only Trisha but also Nicole's grandmother through their love of astrology & numerology. As a teen, Kara would watch Nicole & Kristin and our families paths always crossed. At the same time, Tommy & Phil had met in the 115th precinct of the NYPD where they became partners. They became close as partners and friends, working the midnight shift for a number of years. Tommy came to know Phil's family during that time. ....Now we go back to the summer Montauk 2020. As the visit in Montauk continued with everyone spread out in conversation on the beach, from the porch "Hey Nicole, come here!" is heard. Nicole turns to the porch to Kara, Lori, Trisha and Kara's sister all staring and says "Well this can't be good". The conversation immediately turned to "so...are you dating anyone?". Being that it was in the midst of Covid, dating was near impossible. Kara then presents the idea that she wants to set Nicole up with Phil's partner Tommy and starts going into detail about how great he is and trying to find photos to show. A few weeks later Kara reaches back out to Nicole with a text and a few photos confirming if she could give Tommy her number. (Nicole's note: One of these photo's being from Tommy's surprise wrestling themed 30th birthday which almost scared me off because I was sent it without context. Turns out I was right to be scared of his love of Macho Man Randy Savage *ask someone for the video of Tommy from his brother's wedding*, but I love him anyway). Nicole put her trust in Kara and Phil and agreed and a few days later received a text from Tommy trying to set up a date. Nicole was living out in Montauk at the time while working remote and suggested that they could meet in the middle. Tommy said he would take care of finding a place and suggested Serafina in East Hampton, which was certainly a much farther drive for him and the effort did not go unnoticed. The plan was to eat at Serafina and then walk the town after to try and get to know each other a bit better as the restaurant had a time limit for eating inside. Of course nature had other plans and it was pouring rain. They pivoted the plan after their meal and got ice cream and stayed huddled under a nearby store's overhang to chat before heading home. Over the next few months they made plans for dates while getting to know each other better and better, and it was all thanks to Kara & Phil. Over the years they grew close to each other's families, visiting Tommy's brother and sister in law Ben & Eva in Germany, spending holidays with each other, moving in together, and combining the Visconti and Forrester families into one. Fast forward to May of 2024 and Tommy asked Nicole to marry him back in Montauk where it all truly began. It was the perfect proposal of just the two of them (plus Kristin & Brandon hiding in the back with champagne and music at the ready), followed by a lovely dinner and weekend with their parents in Montauk during the music festival. We are so excited to start this next chapter of our lives and are honored to see you all there. Get ready to party!
