Nico and I first met playing volleyball at Decatur Recreation Center on Sunday nights. On one of those nights, I invited him out to a group dinner after the volleyball Meet-up. Even though we were in a large group, we ended up talking to each other the entire time. Nico and I found out we had a lot of similar interests like soccer, volleyball, hiking and traveling. We also found out that we both liked snowboarding. A few friends and I were going on a ski trip in a month and I asked him along. Little did I know that would be the start of our cute international relationship.
Nico asked me to come over to his house so he could cook me a French-style meal complete with appetizers, wine, main course and dessert. I snuck in a picture while he was cooking and sent it to my sister's, giggling, that I have never been so happy.
Nico took me to a cute French Restaurant in Atlanta called Atmosphere. He said the French Restaurant gave him courage because he was soo nervous. Little did I know earlier that day he took off work so he could pick the exact table and make preperations for the night. He conspired with my sister, Kelly, and my mom to check in to a fancy hotel in downtown Atlanta, decorate with roses and champagne and bring our work clothes over. It was very sneaky and it worked like a charm. BOY was I impressed and smiling from ear to ear when he got on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him! Of course I said yes!
