If you are committed to celebrate with us on our special day, we would recommend you make travel arrangements as soon as possible. Being the year of the Jubilee (an event that takes place every 25 years!) Rome is likely to be packed throughout the year and in the spring. See the Travel section for some tips!
From Fiumicino (FCO) you can take the regional train headed to Roma Ostiense. This takes around 30 minutes and costs 8€. Alternatively, the Leonardo Express train goes to Roma Termini and is 14€. Taxis are 55€ to go anywhere inside the Aurelian Walls (city centre). From Ciampino (CIA) a Terravision bus is available from 6€. Taxis are 31€ for central locations.
Unfortunately Rome does not shine for its public transports, even though they may have been improved to sustain the tourist inflow during the Jubilee. This said, they probably remain the best way to move around in the city. If your accommodation is central and you don't mind a stroll, you can probably reach many places and attractions walking. There are also a few car sharing services (we would recommend ShareNow, as it is quite easy to sign up to) as well as one for scooter (Cooltra). Uber is not as used, but the app works to book taxis. We recommend renting a car if you plan to explore the surroundings of the city.
We expect somewhat formal outfits (it's a wedding, after all!) but we are not so concerned about it to impose a dress code. We want our guests to be comfortable, so whether you wear a tie, heels, long or short dress is up to you!
In standard conditions, the reception location is a 20-minute drive from the church. If you don't have a car, the best option to travel independently will be a taxi. We hope those of you who do have a mean of transportation will consider giving a lift to our friends from abroad. When collecting RSVPs we will try to ask about needs and availability to make sure most guests have a way to get to Villa Livia arranged.
