This story began during Shannon and Nicodemus's freshman year of college, where they were in the same communications class. That class embarked on a field trip to New York City. On the train ride home, Shannon chose to sit next to Nicodemus. What began as a casual choice soon grew into friendship that lasted for years. As the world stood still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, their friendship continued to move forward. It took time before they could go on their first date, but when the time arrived, it was as if everything fell into place. They began a brand new chapter in their story and began dating soon after. Even though their college paths diverged, with each attending different schools, their love only grew stronger. They nurtured their bond and their friendship until the day came when they could continue to build their future, and moved into their first apartment in New Paltz, NY. They soon after moved into their second apartment, continued their careers, and welcomed a new member into their little family, their beloved cat, Juniper! Fittingly, that second apartment now rests right beside the very train station where their story first took a turn toward love, a reminder of the journey they began in 2018.
