FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code for the wedding?

Answer

We kindly request guests wear white, cream, ivory, or khaki colors. Comfortable clothing is encouraged. For gentlemen, we recommend wearing either a long or short-sleeved shirt paired with slacks or shorts, while ladies may opt for a sundress or dressy separates such as a nice top and skirt.

Question

What is the schedule for the wedding day?

Answer

A shuttle will be available to transport the groom and guests from the Hilton Hawaiian Village at 2:30 to the ceremony venue, Pohakupuna Beach Club, arriving at 3:30. The ceremony is scheduled to start at 4:00 pm. Following the ceremony, guests are invited to enjoy a cocktail hour while the bride and groom have their photos taken. For dinner a traditional Hawaiian feast and luau with luau dancers and music has been arranged. At 8:30pm, a shuttle will pick up all the guests, as well as the bride and groom, and take them back to the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Question

When will the bride and groom be in Hawaii?

Answer

They will be arriving in the afternoon of Thursday, September 26th and departing late on Wednesday October 2nd.

Question

Where will the wedding ceremony take place?

Answer

The wedding is scheduled to take place at the Pohakupuna Beach Club on Sunday the 29th. The ceremony will begin at 4:00pm. We have organized a shuttle to transport guests from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, with pickup at 2:30pm and arrival at Pohakupuna at 3:30pm. If you prefer to use Uber or drive yourself, you are more than welcome to do so.

Question

What are the details for the sunset cruise?

Answer

We have reserved a catamaran for Saturday Sept 28th. We will meet at Wikki Beach in front of Dukes Restaurant at 5pm. Its about a 10 min walk from Hilton Hawiian Village. Proceed to the boat itself as they do not have a check-in booth. Look for the big yellow & red catamaran named NA HOKU III. We will be on the boat from 5:30 pm to 7:00pm. There is an open bar, but no food, so we encourage everyone to eat before or make plans after. Please dress comfortably, shorts and tshirts are ok.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

It is advised to pack light for your trip. A carry-on should be sufficient, as Nico and I were able to manage during our last visit to Hawaii. During the day, you can expect to dress comfortably in shorts, tanks, and sandals. For the evenings, a sundress would be appropriate attire for the ladies, for the gentlemen shirts and shorts.

Question

Are there any group activities planned?

Answer

Hawaii offers a wide array of activities for you to explore at your leisure on the island. We want you to have the freedom to enjoy this incredible destination at your own pace. As a result, the only two scheduled group events are the catamaran cruise and the luau following the wedding. The cruise is optional, and we will provide a link for a group discount once it becomes available. We encourage you to take advantage of the flexibility to tailor your experience in Hawaii to your preferences. Whether it's relaxing on the beach, exploring local attractions, or trying out exciting activities, the choice is yours. Question

Should I rent a car while we are in Hawaii?

Answer

Parking at the resort can be quite pricey ($50-$70 a day). If you're considering a day trip and need to rent a car, we suggest renting for the day only. Conveniently, there is an Enterprise location on site at the hotel. If you prefer not to use Enterprise, there are other rental car companies within walking distance in the area. We encourage you to shop around for the best deal that suits your needs. Also, make sure to inquire about the closing times of the rental offices and whether they offer after-hours drop-off options. Another option is Turo. Think of it like AirBnB for cars. You rent from private individuals and in some cases you can have the car delivered to the hotel

Question

I'm looking forward to going to Hawaii! What’s the best way to book my trip?

Answer

For your convenience, we have arranged a discounted rate at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort for the bride, groom, and their family. If you will be traveling and wish to stay there as well, you can take advantage of this special rate. However, please note that you are also welcome to make reservations at any accommodation of your choice. We understand that everyone's preferences and needs vary, so feel free to select the option that suits you best.
