From Ft. Lauderdale Jet Blue, Avianca and, for those who feel adventurous, Spirit fly directly into Bogota. There are also Avianca and American Airlines flights into Bogota from Miami. If you plan on touring within Colombia before/after the wedding, Avianca will have the most flight options/flexibility.
Roughly 45 minutes but please be aware Bogota has very bad traffic depending on the time of day. This is also something to keep in mind when planning on when to return to the airport. Uber is a solid option. There are also secure airport taxis available immediately upon exiting the terminal (there will a line of cabs as you exit outside, make sure you go through the line). Cost should not exceed 40,000 COP (approx. US $13). Another option is to call ahead to the hotel and ask them to arrange transportation.
Remember— Colombia is on the equator, but is mountainous country with drastic changes in elevation (Bogota is 8,675 feet above sea level). Temperatures in Bogota typically range in the mid-50s to mid-70s°F during the day and down to the 40s-60s°F at night, while on the coast (Cartagena, Santa Marta, Barranquilla) you have hot, tropical weather. We recommend checking the forecast before packing.

We will be providing roundtrip transport to the venue from the hotel for out of town guests. The venue is about an hour away from the city depending on traffic, which is the big variable. If you do have a car, there will be an “Angel” driver available to drive you and your car back to where you are staying.
CARTAGENA A short flight away from Bogota. Has flights directly back into Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Coastal city with developed tourism. Historic- would recommend staying inside the old walled city. Spend a few nights in Islas de Rosario in an eco hotel and go diving or snorkeling. We have stayed in Bastión Hotel in the old walled city and Coralina Island in the Islas de Rosario and would recommend both. There are many boutique hotels with great pricing inside the walled city, which are also recommended. Weather is hot and humid.
VILLA DE LEYVA Three hour drive from Bogota. Recommend hiring a driver (with a car) to get out there. Historic old village with central square Horseback ride, tejo, see a big fossil, experience the Colombian countryside High desert climate.
MEDELLIN Short flight from Bogota. Has flights directly back into Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Fun, modern city with culture, good food and nightlife. The city has a metro, which is a good way to move around. Stay in Poblado. A lot of restaurants, safe and good access to roads. Recommend day or overnight trip to Guatape, colorful town in lake district- definitely worth to climb to the top of the Piedra del Peñol! Tripadvisor or your hotel can recommend group tours including food and transportation (quite cheap). Direct flights from Ft. Lauderdale (Spirit and Jet Blue) as well as Miami (Avianca and American/LATAM). Weather will be mild - nice during the day, cool at night.
COFFEE ZONE (ZONA CAFETERA) Short flight from Bogota into Armenia, which also has direct flights to Fort Lauderdale (Spirit). Coffee plantations, "El Parque del Café", horseback riding through beautiful countryside, raft river tours, canopy, bike rides and many outdoor adventures. Warm to mild weather.
