What can we say… it’s been a full blown love story from the moment we crossed paths. Every step, every touch, every word felt destined and divine a thousand times over. It was destiny to meet at X Bar during what was Alora’s last drag show before her birthday two days later. It was destiny that Nico went out in Denver after his mom’s birthday celebration (for her birthday two days later) that very same night. We didn’t know this would be the last normal event before Alora’s career would skyrocket to success. We didn’t know Nico would finally find the big and beautiful queer community he always yearned for. We also didn’t know that our stories would continue to entangle and expand together… forever. That night after we kissed, we became inseparable. Driving hours to see each other, it didn’t matter where we were or what we had to do the following day. Between Aloras never ending sets and flights, and during Nico’s graveyard shift at the hotel, or in the daytime, when he should be sleeping, we still sought any chance we could for video calls, dates, meetings— meticulously nurturing our kindling. After all, our Sagittarius flames burned hotter and larger for each other with every passing day. We had to be next to one another or it felt like something was missing. And when it came time to move from Colorado and find our groove in the great big world, we made the journey together to Los Angeles, a dream that had been brewing for both of our lives. Since then, we’ve been able to build a huge community of artists, queers, lovers, and the like. Two proposals, multiple festivals, countless events, endless travel and everlasting memories flash like a disco ball on our timeline. Los Angeles opened her wild exciting terrifying arms to us and we fell head over heels in love. Navigating the city, the industry, and our places as trans people in the current world, our relationship has been tested in a myriad of ways that has only made us stronger and the bond thicker than we could’ve imagined. It’s always felt like a cinematic fairytale love story, from the moment we locked eyes, lips, and spirits on the dance floor. Nobody can deny our passion, drive, connection— like two sides of the same coin, spinning endlessly. We are so grateful that we can celebrate and share our love with the people that we love the most.
