Welcome to our crazy adventure! We're getting married!!!

Original meeting was a bar in December of 2019. Meeting is a strong term to use since what went down was that Thomas saw Nicky at the local bar, Daisy Duke's surrounded by all her swing dancing male friends and was too afraid to ask her to dance though he'll tell you when asked that he didn't make a move was because he didn't think she was single (she very much was). In an added twist, Nicky does not remember meeting Thomas at all during that time. Flash foward 7 months: Both of us happened to be on Tinder and ended up connecting over a few rounds of the card game, Speed, including round prizes of truth and dare and a few rounds of strip speed (Thomas lost). Thomas ended up going out on the August Complex fire in CA for a month and Nicky ended up working on finishing building her barn so that she can move her goats from NM to MT with Thomas was assisting with the build whenever he was available. When Thomas got back from fighting fire in CA. The two of us end up reconnecting and our relationship as a couple started to grow. Thomas assisted Nicky with road trips to pick up goats from both NM and CA. After that Thomas moved in and the rest was history...

We got engaged on November 5, 2021. Thomas, while on fire, was watching V for Vendetta during one of the video calls where Nicky asked him when he was going to ask him to marry her, and thus the date was set. Thomas, then between fire rolls, worked to finish the buck barn so that he could propose in it. Then on Friday November 5th after attending one of Nicky's college professor's retrospective art exhibit, Thomas had his family set up the house with dinner from Olive Garden and had them hide in the newly build and almost completed buck barn. Then he used a ruse to get Nicky to come over and have everyone surprise her. Thomas then proposed after only achieving mild confusion (not really a surprise) by Nicky. One being that Nicky saw Thomas' family hiding in the dark of the barn when she went to turn on the light. Also, he took too long to get down on one knee so Nicky kinda figured out what was happening. Nicky then in a very Nicky fashion said 'yeah" to Thomas's question.

Nicky decided to sew her own wedding dress on the same sewing machine that her dad made her mother's wedding dress and his and the best man's shirts and pants. The dress design is the result of Nicky trying on several dresses with her soon to be sister-in-law, Fish (Felisha) and sister, Christina. The dress takes elements from about 4-5 different dresses that she liked. Its a good thing Nicky is making her dress or since she never found everything that she wanted in a store bought one.

Thomas proposed with his great-great grandmother's ring from Italy. The only part of the ring that is not original is the stone as it was "lost" during the great depression. Nicky will also be wearing a ring with her Grandma and Grandpa Litherland's ashes set into the stones.
