HOW WE MET

11/20/14

"Thursday night-8:30-you-me-drinks?" was the text Nick sent to set up our first date at a bar in Ballard 7 years ago. So getting married on a Thursday just felt right. We swiped right on a dating app, texted for a few weeks and then finally met up and hit it off! Meeting Nick's beagle however, did not go as smooth. Whitney heard all the amazing stories of Beasley James so she was so excited to finally meet the little man. Beasley is definitely a shy guy, unless you have food, so it took a bit for him to warm up to Whitney. But 7 years later, we'll let you guess who's his favorite is now ;)

THE PROPOSAL

8/27/21

We book an annual getaway trip and San Diego was one of our first vacations and easily our favorite. After our cancelled trip in 2020, we were able to go back in 2021 where Nick proposed at Sunset Cliffs. Whitney is always making Nick chase sunsets with her, so we went to the cliffs and had a couple beers, he set up a tripod to take a picture and got down on a knee. Whitney cried a lot and forgot to say yes the first time, so Nick had to ask again. The age old question of "did I know he was going to propose?" well answer is — of course! Had my nails done, he had my mom's diamond ring and after 7 years I figured it was about time! I had a feeling he was going to propose the night before when we went to Coronado island but timing (& the sunset hehe) wasn't quite right so I'm happy he waited until the following evening. Following the proposal we went to an Italian dinner where they gave us a complimentary cocktails, had amazing pasta (Nick's was better of course), and impromptu fireworks went off over San Diego zoo that we could see from our dinner table. It was perfection.

OUR FUTURE

As far as our future goes, we're hoping to upgrade our townhome to a home home in the next couple of years! We adopted Miss Junie Pea 2 years ago and our dream is to give our pups the yard they deserve. Until then, we'll continue our beer bike rides, sunset chasing and enjoying time with our beagle babies. If you ask Whitney, we still have room for a 3rd (dog), but we'll save that convo for another day when we get that yard ;)
