COVID Note

*COVID-19 Plans*

Hello lovely friends and family! Just wanted to drop a note to everyone saying that we understand if the COVID-19 pandemic is changing your plans. We are not expecting anyone to travel from out of state, or put themselves or their families at risk by attending our wedding. We love you all dearly, and will miss everyone who can not attend. But we know that this is uncharted waters for everyone, and we respect each person's decision about whether or not to attend. For those with concerns about the wedding plans, we are still planning for the entire wedding to be outdoors. The ceremony will be held on an open lawn, where people can safely social distance. Cocktail hour and dinner will be hosted outside of a covered pole-barn, that will be open air as well. Tables will be spaced out and seating assigned according to family units. Masks will be encouraged when appropriate, as well as provided at the venue! Please feel free to reach out to either of us with any COVID concerns or questions! Can't wait to see those who will be with us on our big day, and all our love to those who will be sending their well-wishes from home! Thanks!

Welcome Party - Change of Location

We have made a change to our Welcome Party on Friday 9/4. It will no longer be held at Companernos. Instead it will be at the Schneeman Family Cabin (same place as wedding ceremony). It will start at 8:30 PM.

Our Story

Part 2

Fast forward a month and a half. Nick could hardly contain his excitement. It was Friday night and today was going to be the day. He was FINALLY going to ask out the blonde bombshell at work who he couldn’t get out of his head. He waited for Lauren at the end of her afternoon route, while she wrote therapy times on patient white boards and sweet talked the old men. Posed on the edge of an armchair, Nick pretended to be interested in the newspaper as he waited. Lauren rounded the corner, and saw him, smiled, and set the butterflies to fluttering in his guts. Almost losing his nerve, he inquired of her plans for the evening, to which she responded she had a date with the gals. Plans dashed, Nick abandoned his original planned ask, and wished her a fun night on the town. Luckily, the next day he regained his courage and asked her out via Facebook Messenger. Nick invited this fair young lass to join him and some friends in Saint Paul’s Lowertown, unbeknownst to him, at the bar Lauren’s sister managed. Struck by her desire and longing for this charming young man, Lauren did not want to show up alone. However, her best friend, and partner in crime, was caught in the clutches of domestic drama and unable to come. Ellen encouraged, cajoled, and even threatened Lauren into peeling herself off the couch and putting herself out there on her own. (So thank goodness for Ellen!) [[continued below...]]

Our Story

Part 1

Once upon a time (about 3 years ago) there was a lovely lady named Lauren. Lauren worked as a clinical trial coordinator at a big metropolitan hospital. One day she grew tired of her big bad boss’s unrelenting requests, late night emergency calls, and unresponsive trial participants. So she told her boss, “Peace out, girl scout” and got a new job in the therapy department at a venerable old nursing home. Marian Care Center was right across the street from her house, very convenient, and kept her in healthcare, which she knew was her calling. On her first day on the job, the staff on the transitional care unit (TCU) ignored her, hardly even returning a simple ‘hello’. But by her third day, things were destined to change. During Lauren’s afternoon rounds, a handsome man with luscious locks appeared at the end of the hallway of the TCU. Upon seeing Lauren, he rushed over, stuck out his hand, and announced "Hi, I'm Nick." (He thought he was very gallant; she thought he was cute and awkward.) It was love at first sight. And second, and third. Nick was a bit of a foot dragger. Lauren and Nick would awkwardly run into each other in her neighborhood upon leaving work after a shift over the course of the next weeks. On one occasion giggles erupted from Lauren, and her accomplice (and best friend/now maid of honor) Ellen, after they were caught talking about him while out on a walk, and he appeared from the nursing home parking lot across the street. Of course he handled it with grace and charm. (The girls didn’t see him blushing.) [[continued below...]]

Our Story

Part 3

Lauren showed up at Public Kitchen. Nick’s friends ditched him. Nick and Lauren were alone for the first time, an accidental date. The sparks were flying immediately. Lauren talked and shared life stories. Nick gazed longingly into her eyes. Once in a while he even remembered to join the conversation. Lauren nervously ate baskets of garlic fries. Nick even got to eat a few. Neither can remember anything they talked about. And before you know it, the stories had been told, fries had been eaten, and the night moved past them. Fortunately, they are blessed to be able to share their fries and their stories forever. If you'd like to see or hear more of this story, we’re still working on it! You can be a part of it by attending our wedding on 9.5.2020. We can't wait to write you in! <3
